What key equipment is required for the refrigerant fluid recovery process?

A recovery station, a precision electronic scale, and a transfer cylinder are required for this part of the operation.

What is the significance of the service valve position before removing the pressure tap plug?

The service valve key must always be verified to be in the rear (closed) position before safely removing the pressure tap plug.

Where should the yellow hose from the vacuum pump be connected on the transfer station?

The yellow hose must be connected to the blue valve, which is the 'IN' port of the transfer station, and the shut-off valve must be installed on the side toward the vacuum pump.

What must be done with the valves on the manifold gauge set before pulling the vacuum?

Both the low-pressure (BP) and high-pressure (HP) valves on the manifold gauge set must be fully opened.

What pressure reading confirms that the evacuation of the hoses and transfer station was successful?

A reading of -1 bar on the manometers confirms that the recovery station and hoses have been successfully pulled into a vacuum.

In what order should the system be shut down after achieving the vacuum?

First, the valve on the flexible hose must be closed, and then the vacuum pump should be turned off.

Refrigerant Recovery Setup and Procedure
📌 Essential equipment for refrigerant recovery includes a recovery station, a precision electronic scale, and a transfer cylinder.
⚙️ The initial step involves using the vacuum pump to evacuate the hoses, manifold, and recovery station; hoses must be properly connected to the service valves (LP and HP).
🛠️ Ensure that the service valve stems (carreaux de manoeuvre) are fully retracted (en cale arrière) before removing pressure port caps, a crucial step for safety given the system contains refrigerant.
⚖️ After evacuating the lines, the first valve to close must be the one connected to the hose, followed by shutting down the vacuum pump, confirming a successful vacuum check indicated by pressure readings reaching -1 bar.

Connection Sequence and Valve Management
🔗 The low-pressure (LP) flexible hose connects to the service valve, and the high-pressure (HP) flexible hose connects to the liquid service valve.
💧 The yellow flexible hose, which must also be evacuated, connects from the manifold's blue input port (IN) to the transfer station.
💨 A fourth flexible hose connects from the vacuum pump to the transfer station's output (OUT), ensuring the shut-off valve near the pump is installed correctly.
⬆️ All valves in the circuit (vacuum pump, transfer station output, manifold on both HP and LP sides) must be opened to ensure complete evacuation of all hoses and the transfer station before starting the vacuum process.

Key Points & Insights
➡️ Always verify that the service valve stems are in the fully retracted position ("en cale arrière") before removing pressure port caps to avoid accidental refrigerant release.
➡️ The evacuation sequence requires closing the flexible hose valve first, immediately followed by turning off the vacuum pump.
➡️ After evacuation, disconnect the yellow hose and attach it to the transfer cylinder to prepare for the actual refrigerant transfer process.
