Running maps at higher tiers is one of the simplest ways to increase the amount of rewards you get from farming in Path of Exile's endgame. When you first reach the Atlas, it has maps ranging all the way from tier 1 to tier 16. As you progress through the Atlas, you are introduced to a handful of quests that eventually lead to tough encounters called Pinnacle bosses. When you clear certain Pinnacle bosses, they will reward you with something called a Voidstone which will upgrade the tiers of maps on your Atlas, and give you a small chance to acquire some special maps called tier 17 maps. Gathering all 4 Voidstones will upgrade every map on the Atlas to tier 16 and give you the best chance at acquiring tier 17s as well. This guide shows which bosses grant each Voidstone and how you can fight those bosses yourself.
