The October 1930 Theses. A Comparison of the October 1930 Theses and the February 1930 Program.

October 1930 Political Thesis and February 1930 Political Thesis Comparison
📌 The October 1930 Political Thesis, drafted by Trần Phú, was adopted after the Provisional Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam met in Hong Kong in October 1930.
👥 The October 1930 conference decided to rename the party from the Communist Party of Vietnam to the Indochinese Communist Party and elected an official Central Committee with Em as the General Secretary.
🎯 The October Thesis defined the strategic path as a bourgeois democratic revolution followed by a direct transition to socialist revolution, skipping the capitalist development stage.

Core Tenets of the October 1930 Political Thesis
✊ Revolutionary tasks included overthrowing feudalism and imperialism, with both tasks closely linked.
🛠️ The guiding force was the working class led by the Communist Party as its vanguard.
🌍 The Vietnamese revolution was considered an integral part of the world revolution.
⚠️ Limitations included failing to correctly identify the main contradiction in Indochinese society, emphasizing class struggle and land issues over the national banner.

Comparison: October 1930 Thesis vs. February 1930 Thesis (Nguyễn Ái Quốc)
🤝 Both documents agreed that the immediate revolution was bourgeois democratic, aiming to progress to socialism without a capitalist stage, and that the tasks were overthrowing imperialism and feudalism.
⚖️ The February 1930 Thesis identified the main contradictions as: 1) the entire nation vs. French imperialism, and 2) laborers (mainly peasants) vs. feudal landlords, with the national contradiction being primary.
⚖️ The October 1930 Thesis identified the contradictions as national and class, but deemed the class contradiction as primary.
🚩 Regarding enemies, the February Thesis specified French Imperialism, feudalists, and reactionary bourgeoisie, whereas the October Thesis only named imperialism and feudalism, failing to clearly distinguish progressive elements within the feudal class.

Differences in Revolutionary Forces and Stages
🌱 The February 1930 Thesis identified the revolutionary forces as the working class and peasantry (the main driving force), requiring an alliance with the petty bourgeoisie, national bourgeoisie, and progressive small landlords.
🚫 The October 1930 Thesis limited the revolutionary forces strictly to the workers and peasants, neglecting other classes.
🔄 The February 1930 Thesis outlined two continuous stages: bourgeois democratic revolution and land revolution, while the October 1930 Thesis stipulated moving directly to socialism after success in the initial stage.

Key Points & Insights
➡️ The greatest limitation of the October 1930 Thesis was its failure to clearly articulate the main contradiction in a colonial society, resulting in overemphasizing class struggle over national issues.
➡️ The February 1930 Thesis was deemed correct because it accurately defined the relationship between nation and class, identified the correct revolutionary forces, and possessed a sound and creative national liberation path.
➡️ The October Thesis incorrectly assessed the revolutionary potential of the petty bourgeoisie, petite landlords, and failed to recognize the possibility of dividing and drawing in a segment of the landlord class.
